There was a time when I was everything at once.
A career woman, mother, partner, daughter.
Always present. Always carrying. Always moving forward.
It became part of who I thought I was…
until life brought me to a stop.
Not gently. not gradually. but in a way that exposed everything.
I was awakened within my own life.
Forced to look at what no longer aligned, at everything I had been carrying, and at the parts of myself I had lost somewhere along the way.
Life moved me through deep layers, not to break me, but to return me to something that had always lived within me.
Not to become who I thought I needed to be,
but to remember who I truly am.

Awareness begins when you remember who you are beneath everything you have become. So you can feel, choose and live from yourself again. Not from expectations, but from what truly aligns with you.
I am Nyaki
What I see, I can no longer unsee. And what I know, I share.
My story moves between the clay fields of Zeeland and African roots, between earthly life and the deep feeling that something within me had always wanted to be remembered. More than twenty years ago, my journey to Africa began, without knowing that this path would open so many layers within me. Layers around identity, consciousness, womanhood, remembrance, and the slow journey of coming home to myself.
Today I write columns and work on my book, where this journey comes together with everything I have learned, felt and lived through along the way. Alongside my writing, my husband and I create ceremonial cacao and artisan chocolate experiences through Ancient Wisdom and Mabero Chocolate, bringing together taste, story, ritual and human connection in a way that feels both grounding and alive.
My work also moves through inner journeys, awareness and remembrance. Through voice, writing, cacao and lived experience, I create spaces where people can reconnect with themselves beneath the noise of everyday life.
I feel what lives beneath the surface, in people, in words, and especially in what remains unspoken. My writing, voice and work are born from that same sensitivity.
Everything I write, share and create comes from the same movement: remembering.
